What is Scoliosis?
Scoliosis is a medical condition characterised by a lateral curvature of the spine, often resembling an "S" or "C" shape when viewed from the back. This condition can develop during childhood or adolescence and varies in severity. Mild cases may require regular monitoring, while more severe cases might necessitate bracing or surgery to correct the curvature and prevent complications. Common symptoms include uneven shoulders, waist, or hips, and in some cases, pain and difficulty breathing. The exact cause of scoliosis is often unknown, though genetic factors may play a role.
